What is an Air Mattress?

Air mattresses are special mattress models that can apply different pressure intensities to the parts of the patient’s body that touch the bed. Air Mattress Types

There are three types of air mattresses. We can consider them as diamond type air mattress, tube type air mattress and positioning air mattress.

Diamond Type Air Mattress

It is a type of mattress that consists of diamond-shaped air channels, from which it is named. In terms of air mattress prices, it is more suitable than other mattress types.

Tube Type Air Mattress

It is a type of bed consisting of air channels in the form of tubes parallel to each other. There are types within itself as A+B and A+B+C. Among the models, A+B+C can be called the most advanced bed model. It has been observed that this model is effective up to type 4 wounds. Tube type air mattresses with ventilation are also available. These models aim to prevent scar formation by preventing sweating by constantly giving air to the area where the patient lies.

Positioning Air Mattress

The positioning air mattress aims to move the patient to the left and right continuously. In this way, the patient companion can change the patient’s positions without getting tired. In cases where the patient has bedsores, it has been observed that he healed in a short time with the air mattress model that takes position.

When purchasing air mattress, it is important for the patient and user comfort that the air motor works at a low noise level and that the cell can be easily replaced when a problem occurs in the bed cells. Apart from this, it is also important that the purchased product has properties such as flame resistant, water resistant and vapor permeable.
